6 Flags Darien Lake Amusement Park

This place is a little ways out in the country and this probably was meant to be more fun then haunted but really it turned out to be pretty interesting. I parked and had to hike in so walking down the dark country road did not help but I made it. I walked into some woods but moments later and slipped on a bank and was soak and wet from my knees down. I guess the creek was not as frozen as it looked. Eventually making it into the park.

The amusement park was like a ghost town it just has a different look this time of year. No people, no screams, lots of snow, and some of the amusement park is lit during this time of year yet oddly enough the park is still very much alive by many unexplained noises.

The first challenge of mine is how I should handle the snow some of the roads in the amusement park were plowed while others had 3 feet of snow to trudge threw. Some of the snow so high it would reach the top of some of the fenced in areas for the rides. In a way being that this park is huge with multiple lakes around, rides, buildings I knew I was in for a long night. But it also takes a lot endurance and stamina to be able to handle this place even during the summer to walk the whole  park takes a long time so imagine doing it threw ice covered roads and snow.

I came across a subway and an area that was well lit which was Looney Toons Land and many other buildings like the gazebo, gift shops Ect. It looked like an old western town as that is how the park designed them. I entered into some dark area with arches that area was pretty high in activity as it went underneath one of the buildings.

Eventually I made my way on over to the pirate ship, giant Ferris wheel, some kids rides. It was pretty peaceful but the it was getting rough. Basically if I wanted to get any photos of rides I had to hop fences, gates Ect to get to them so after a few slips, falls, and climbs I started seeing some ectoplasm so my hard work was paying off.

I made my way over to the roller coast instead of climbing on up the ramp to it I just went under the tracks took a few photos.  I then cut over to the Batman building. Where they do the batman shows and trust me its awesome because I use to see them. This area probably was the worst. As near by a little tiny food shop a door was wide up swinging back and forth, the counter shutters were half way open and something seemed to be in there making noise. Like it was operating the food stand.

I kept focusing on the Batman building as on the site they have a little scene that looks like Gotham city. I heard whistling I assumed it was the wind maybe hitting the Ferris Wheel but it only went on for a couple minutes then I never heard it again. You could hear something in the wind to it was normal wind it was like voices, howling, like the wind was carrying something. I do not think for one minute I was alone believe me.

I ended up walking around to some more rides like the scrambler, another roller coaster and at one point I stopped dead in my tracks because I heard walking or crunching in the snow ahead of me but nothing was there I waited. It was walking though and sounded like the talking of men.  I knew then for sure I was not alone here. I eventually made my way past a building with a door wide open a noise came from inside perhaps they were rest rooms but I made my way past very cautiously.

Eventually I made my way to ship wreck falls, a light house, boats, and a giant shark hanging upside down. It was rough I had to climb over many obstacles as I was now in the water park area. But to get to certain things you have to climb so I was walking in the man made canals. I took a few photos and hopped another few rod iron  fences and ropes eventually wound up in the water park. I was hiking up a steep hill slipped a few times and eventually I was walking under networks of tubes not much to see or capture but it was fun. I made my way to the bottom of the steep hill where all the water slides end at an took a few photos eventually to making my on over to Hooks Lagoon.

Hooks Lagoon is my favorite I just love the old pirate ship there and Hooks hide out. I climbed up into the hideout like a big kid going on my hands and knees threw the holes, roped netting, and as bad as I wanted to ring the bells and play around I couldn't lol but it was more fun then ghostly. Although I did capture something near the one pirate ship. At this point it was time to stop playing so I hiked on over to the boomerang, superman, and predator roller coasters.

The boomerang had alot of activity. Did not have to take many photos it seems the roller coasters in the park had more ghost then the other rides. But i took a few photos here and of course walked under some of the roller coasters track. I then made my way over to the predator which I caught some ectoplasm right in front of the main sign of it. This is an awesome wooden roller coaster so i had to check it out. I went all the way up the ramps and boarding area even although there I felt watched. At that point I heard a dog barking pretty close by could have been the farm i the distance its hard to say.

At this point I covered about 80 percent of the park except for a couple rides, shops, roller coasters most of the park at this point I walked around at least once in. I visited many rides and almost got a ghost in each area of the park which is pretty much what I wanted to do to show you that there is more to this park then just the rides and thrills.

Besides my adventure here there was a lot of activity. Like one area was where they stored the kids rides in there was noises coming from there and trust me it was not wind something threw a box and got upset it did not want me there or taking photos inside and when I did it lashed out. There is a lot of weird noises some paranormal some not. You hear things like whistles, voices, snow crunching, doors slamming, and even pigeons get startled since they hide near the rides. Its a pretty eerie place at night feelings of being watched were only strong in just a couple areas. But this turned out to be a stellar investigation. I don't think many could endure this it was rough like I said a lot of snow, ice, climbing and falls which are expected when your in an amusement park this time of year.

I did eventually leave and took some photos of the front gate captured some ectoplasm right around the six flags sign lol. This really completed my night eventually hiking back to the car which was pretty far away since I left the park a different way. At this point I had to make my way on over to the Buffalo Naval Park and Ships.
